VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Independence Day Celebration – July 4th, All Day
Coventry knows how to throw a 4th of July Day bash, and this year will be no exception. Because of the size and scale of this event, we are asking that if you plan on participating in the festivities then please sign up for ONE volunteer slot. Slots include may be helping to set out tables in the morning, running the field events, or flippin’ burgers and dogs. We cannot do this event without the support of everyone who is participating. Sign up sheets are located at the pool or call Kristen Deevy at 303-979-7938.
INFORMATION AND SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
General Information:
It’s time again for the Coventry Fourth of July neighborhood celebration!! Activities are planned throughout the day to include all ages & skills. Each event will take place in designated areas around the clubhouse/parking lot, in the field by the big tree (south of pond), or the swimming pools. Show your spirit by wearing colors to represent your “team”: East of the greenbelt is RED & West is BLUE. You are welcome to post signs or develop slogans to encourage your team.
Competition Information:
Rusty and Lisa West will be the Master Scorekeepers this year. They will keep an ongoing tally posted throughout the day for those avid competitors who want to “know the score.”
The following events count towards the East vs. West competition:
Marathon Races, Parade, Pet Show, Field Game Challenges
Red, White, & Blue Dessert, Selected Swim Events
Chairpersons for the above events are responsible for keeping track of the winners, handing out ribbons either after the event or later in the day, totaling the points for each side (East & West), and giving final scores to the Master Scorekeepers at the conclusion of their event. Chairpersons may need to get winning information from assigned judges in the parade & pet show. First, second & third places will be awarded ribbons & points for their team.
3 points for 1st place; 2 points for 2nd place; 1 point for 3rd place
Will the 2006 reigning Westside champions need to dust off the trophy & hand it over to the East team this year OR will the West team continue to hold the title yet another year?? We hope everyone will come out to participate & have FUN!
This day of events & celebration could not happen without the help from the volunteers, your hard working neighbors.
THANK YOU for making it a fun and successful event!
Special Thanks to the Social Committee
