Aldi is recalling cream cheese sold in 28 states and D.C. over possible salmonella contamination.
In a May 9 recall notice, the grocery chain identified four types of eight-ounce cream cheese carrying the following product names:
- Whipped Cream Cheese Spread, with UPC code 4099100101881
- Chive & Onion Cream Cheese Spread, with UPC code 4099100101751
- Cream Cheese Spread with UPC code 4099100101737
- Strawberry Cream Cheese Spread with UPC code 4099100101744
The recalled cream cheese, made for Aldi and other retailers by Schreiber Foods, carries specific “sell by” dates delineated on the Aldi recall announcement.
A Midwestern retailer, Hy-Vee, last week recalled several cream cheese products made for the chain by third-party manufacturers.
