To Joan and BRF2

Thank you for joining the board. For a while I was thinking I was the only one in BF with questions about the formation of the county; I am happy to learn that I am not alone. You have been a tremendous asset to this discussion.

Joan, thank you for the direct quotes on the IGA Open Space agreement. Were you able to find this in a public place, like the library? I would be interested in reading this; and you are the first person I have heard of to have a copy. Thanks

To BBW.. Election

I looked at the board on line BBW, they didn't even list you as a write in candidate for mayor; I put in BBW, and it did not get recognition. I was disappointed. What did you think of the election. If you read my post to WW, you know I am disappointed.

OPEN SPACE revelations

More on open space. During the April 14, 1998 council meeting, BF OS was removed from the city master plan to curb opposition among county commisssioners, specifically Boulder County. Boulder County Commissioner Paul Danish accused BF of wanting to annex large tracts of unincorporated land, including county owned Rock Creek Farm Open Space along the northwest border of the city........Because Rock Creek open space was included in the master plan, THE CITY COUNCIL VOTED to APPEASE Boulder County Commissioners by removing the area from the master plan. During the discussion which ran until almost 2 A.M. (convenient for citizens--this could have been moved up on the agenda) council members decided to expand city boundaries in other ways; to WEld, etc. Broomfield Enterprise; April 30, 1998.

Who wants to deny that the IGA was not part of the county formation process now?

For Br. Anon.

Hi. You certainly do have a right to ask questions. I did not mean to suggest otherwise. Since I seem to be the only defender of and advocate for the city/county currently on this site, I also feel the need to ask some questions. One of the reasons is that it seems CVELG attempts to relate just about everything that occurs to the city/county. Some things do relate and some do not. (See some of Adrian's comments.)
Regarding Broomfield's election, I think both Bill Berens and Larry Cooper are good men. In the heat of an election, people do things they believe are justified in order to make a point. I would prefer to see the issues addressed. I assume you are pleased with Steve Olstad's election to the Council.
