Eastside Food Coop Update
The Eastside Food Coop plans to open its natural foods grocery store at 26th and Central Avenue NE next summer, in the former Country Club grocery (Bumper to Bumper auto parts currently resides there). The Coop has signed a purchase agreement for the 1.7 million needed to purchase property and design, construct, equip, staff, stock, and open the store. The store will be open 9am to 9pm seven days a week. It will be a great neighborhood resource, hosting the farmers?’ market, educational classes, and various other events. Please call Ken Jerome-Stern (project manager), if you are interested in becoming a member or volunteering.
