Some time in late 1998 or early 1999, work on the Uintah Street Bridge will commence. The design calls for a bridge like the Colorado Avenue bridge, although painted brown to match Neighborhood street lights. Pedestrian sidewalks, a bike path and a median will make for a substantially wider bridge. East of the bridge, Uintah Street will be widened to accommodate the wider bridge (which remains four lanes) and to continue the bike lanes up to Wood Avenue. In order to accomplish this, the landscape buffer will be narrowed to 5 feet and all trees on the north side of Uintah are slated for removal. Many neighbors have expressed concern. What do you think about this plan?
