Could everyone please do your part in containing your trash in appropriate containers. If you put bags on the ground outside, you are inviting the rats to a smorgasboard. Help us keep Colgate a safe and clean environment.

My husband has caught about a dozen rats in the last few months in a trap that we bought from the hardware store. If more people got traps, imagine what we could accomplish.

I live across from Colgate elem school and I would like to say that the RAT problem has been under control, I havent seen any in a long time, but they are slowly but surely working there way back. Today was the first day that I have seen rat droppings in my yard. I clean my trash cans out every week and my yard is clean, but my neighbors are a different story. I have called code enforcement numerous times but it doesnt seem to do any good. They dont listen. I was glad to be able to go in my yard in the evening and not have toworry about a rat running and playing in my yard. We realy need to work on those people who dont want to cooperate and be stern with them. I had to pay $150.00 fine for bulk waste in my yard, which was my husbands work equipment that is all in order, when my neighbors grass is up over your knees and across the alley they hang their trah on the door hing so the rats dont get it. A BEAUTIFUL sight. It takes everyone to make a wonderful place to live.
