Anybody have any thoughts on the run-off election for District 8 between Carla Madison and Sharon Bailey? New ballots are to be sent out on May 18.

Carla Madison Has My Vote!

I believe that Carla Madison has shown a dedicated interest in both District 8 and our own neighborhood - Cole - in the past few months (as well as her own neighborhood, City Park West). She has played an active role in all of our assoc. meetings since August (such as being an invited speaker on Blueprint Denver), as well as TOD and other city-sponsored meetings. She knows how much we love our neighborhood and want to see all residents live a high quality of life. We are ready for honest and active representation in District 8 - Carla Madison has my vote! I encourage you to ask yourself this: How many neighborhood events have we seen Carla Madison at versus Sharon Bailey?

I just learned that Ms. Bailey is asking for us to make a special meeting for her--Maybe she could have just found time in her schedule to show up to the last 15 neighborhood association meetings, the neighborhood cleanup, the safety survey, etc., like Carla has been.

In other words, I think actions speak much louder than words, and Carla has been much more active and visible in our neighborhood, not just when it's an ''official'' event for the candidates.

And I, for one, am tired of Bailey trashing our neighborhoods with her illegally placed campaign signs.

Oh, not to mention the fact that John Bailey threatened a resident when he learned he was removing said signs.

For me, the choice is clear--Carla Madison.

I cannot believe that a city employee can't in some way be held accountable for following City ordinances! She didn't respond to my invitation to attend our ice cream social...maybe it's because I asked her to address the campaign sign issue and describe at what level does she believe it's appropriate to encourage people to follow Denver's laws. I would have a lot more respect if they didn't insist on ''running an aggressive campaign''!
