Club Get A Job

Think Money, Think Paycheck

The other day I heard a group of young adults talking.  One said there are no jobs,

and the others agreed.  They are wrong.  There are jobs to be had.  The question

becomes what type of job are you willing to accept.  If you are saying there are no jobs,

my question is, have you actually put forth  every effort you can to find a job?

Are you doing job search daily?   If you have been looking more that a month, you

most likely have not been looking everyday.

First thing is do not tell yourself nor anyone else that there are no jobs anywhere.

Think money, because money is what you want.  You have no need for a job if you

do not need money.  So instead of saying I need a job, say to earn some money.

Name a money amount.  I need at least $600 each month.

                                         money_in_hand.jpg

So put a mental picture of money in your hand and in your head as you

do your search.  Claim a pay check, and watch it happen.  The paycheck

might not cover the full $600, but you the paycheck will put you on the road

to your $600.  You will get a paycheck once you actually start believing you

will get a paycheck.  Aim for the money, and the right job will come.

Please don't expect to find a job without leaving the sofa in your den.  People

are staying home doing "job search" everyday, and the days are turning into

years.  These same people will still be looking for a job 30 months from now.

They will eventually find work, but you will have the better job, and they will be

taking the left overs.

Once you get out  there daily doing eveything  you can to get a paycheck, you will get

a paycheck.  Think money, and get going!!!  Let me know when you reach your monthly

money goal.

Think paycheck.   money_in_hand.jpg     Think money, and get going!!!

  • Knock on doors
  • Ring phones
  • Send emails
  • Mail letters
  • Talk to friends
  • Talk to working people
  • Talk to store managers when out shopping
  • Visit employment offices.  Talk to staff and patrons
  • Ask the Librarian for suggestions
  • Read want ads in daily papers and neighborhood papers
  • Read online classified sections
  • Keep trying everyday, and you will find a job
  • Ask anybody and everybody about possible hirings

If you are not working after 30 days of job search, you need to rethink

your job goals.  Do you at least come close to qualifying for the job you want.

You might need to put a better shine on your shoes, or change

a hair style, or find an outfit better suited for the job you want.

If you are short on money the best thing you can do for yourself

while looking for work is to ask people you know if they have chores

you can do to earn money.  Don't allow pride to stand between you

and your $600.  Work at looking for a job for 30 days, keep

a journal to know who you saw on what date and do a follow-up and you will find a job.
