Does New Castle County have a Noise Ordinance? I have a neighbor who repairs cars in his garage every night until 11PM. I live several houses away and this noise has kept me up many nights. I've thought about calling the police but wasn't sure if there was anything they could do.

I am not sure of the ordinance but I am sure that the police will address that complaint. They will probably tell your neighbors to finish work at a resonable time. I have had a situation such as this between two neighbors happen in my old neighborhood in claymont before and the problem was taken care of by the police. I do, however, strongly suggest that you talk to them first. Believe it or not some people don't realize that they are making so much noise.

Agreed...talking with your neighbor may be the best way to go. I think most reasonable people would be willing to work with you on finding a solution that everyone can live with.
