The History of Madison Park Trunk or Treat
The Trunk or Treat event was started by an individual by the name of Daneen Gimson as soon as the Madison Central Park was completed in 2011. The Trunk or Treat started out as a private event by a group of moms. Mrs Gimson hosted the event for three years, starting in 2011 through 2013. In 2013, the HOA spent $75 to purchase popcorn to support this private event, started by an individual. We also passed out candy paid for by the HOA. That moms group was made up of Madison Park and Montclaire parents.
HOA chose to host the event in 2014 and 2015. The HOA did not host the Trunk or Treat event in 2016 but wants to do it in 2017. Math tells us that the HOA has hosted the Trunk or Treat event three out of seven years. History also tells us that once upon a time, the HOA stood with and supported (with funding and promotion) individuals with passion to serve and contribute to their neighborhood community.
All of the above is true. The event was always advertised as a moms group event, with Daneen Gimson as the point of contact.
Check the minutes for Sept. & Oct. during those years. It will be spelled out clearly.
She was also the same person that started the Egg Hunts for the 3 years. Again the HOA contributed to those private events by buying 144 dozen plastic eggs. We also promoted the event at our meetings, on our calendar, and through our distribution list.
She was not even a paid HOA member at the time she started her events. However the value of her events was seen by the HOA during those years and we Gladly promoted them to the community and media.
