One of the nicest small decorative native trees is the Desert Willow. It will reach a maximum height of 15 -25 feet, and should be spaced 10-15 feet apart. It has a very showy 3" bloom, varying in color which blooms from April through the fall.
The Desert Willow is related to the trumpet vine and cross vine and is a fast growing drought tolerant tree, and is winter hardy for our area. They can be found in local nurseries and some of the varieties include Marfa Lace, Tejas, and Alpine.
