Your neighborhood is changing…and your voice matters!

How will it change:

An investor is seeking to rezone existing farmland from Blendon Chase Community to Warner Road.

The land is in the process of being annexed to the city of Columbus.

His plan is for 500 apartments (3 stories high) plus a commercial strip.

This is just the beginning and will set precedence for future building.

Can you imagine the effect of the increased traffic alone!!

Every single one of us will be affected every day!

What do you need to know:

In 2002 Columbus City Council published the Northland Plan.

This plan was prepared by professional planning experts, without bias, and with the input from numerous stakeholders including civic leaders, property owners, and representatives of the business community, public agencies and Northland Community Council.

The 2002 plan recommends 3 houses per acre, but this builder is proposing a plan that is 800% above this plan.

What you can do:

1.Be present for the next Northland Community Council Development Committee meeting on Wednesday, August 29

th, 2012 at 7:00 PM at Minerva Park Community Center (directions on reverse). At the meeting there will be people who are planning to speak up against the plans of this investor. However we need the power of numbers. Even if you don’t have anything to say, come listen and show your support.

Minerva Park Community Center address: 2829 Minerva Lake Road in the Village of Minerva Park

2.Sign the petition

3.Talk to your neighbors

When do you need to do this:

This is all happening very fast, you need to act now.

This first meeting on August 29

th , could in fact be the most important meeting of a series of meetings.

This flyer is being distributed by a group of your neighbors that would like to have a say in the type development that takes place. We are not advocating against building but that the builder follows the plans that were put in place for our area. We believe this plan is reasonable and is taking into account our best interest.
