Chandler Pointe

I requested a copy of the neighborhood restrictions several months ago from Gasser. I haven't gotten anything yet. I'd like to make some minor changes to my property, including:

A new mailbox
Minor landscaping (planting a couple of trees, swapping out some bushes)
A shed

Stuff like that. Are we allowed to do these things? Do I need to get permission to do them? If so, who do I contact?

Gasser

I've never had a problem with landscaping or mailbox issues. The neighborhood just really tried to keep properties looking nice and neat so we all have a nice place to live. Not sure about the shed. I know you are supposed to get approval for a fence though.
I never had luck getting a response from Gasser for restrictions, either. Nor did they respond to my request for a fence approval after several tries.
The HOA folks really work hard to keep things going good...it's a big S/D to take care of. I wouldn't want their job!
Try going back to the home page under neighborhood contacts and e-mailing one of the board members directly. They handled my request very quickly and I was able to proceed without response from Gasser.

Shed

We just landscaped our yard, but it never occured to me to ask anyone for permission, so you should have no problem with that. Our neighbors told us about how they put up a brick mailbox, so that should be ok too.

As far as a storage building / barn / shed, I DID talk to someone at Gasser. Basically it was explained that it's against the HOA policy, but the only way it would ever be an issue is if another homeowner complained about it. If it ever did go to court, Gasser would have to say it's against the policy and you'd be required to take it down. So basically, if all your close neighbors are ok with it, then it should be ok. I know a few people have them in the neighborhood, but I've only ''SEEN'' one that looked really bad.
