Hello All! I actually do not live in this complex. I live in a duplex behind the complex. I am writing because I am at my wits end with a occupant in the complex. I don't know her name. I do know that she spends most her days at the pool area reading. She has not gotten along with a few people that live on my street. Until recently I have not had any contact with her. I feel she is taking her aggression out on me and my family. It is a very stressful situation. I am not really sure what to do at this point. This is me reaching out for advise.
About two weeks ago my dog got out of our back yard when we were not home. Somehow she ended up in the pool area. The lady that spends her days at the pool apparently has a real problem with dogs. She locked up my dog in the pool bathroom and called the police. I later spoke with the same officer and he told me that the lady told him that my dog is "vicious" and was "running after her trying to eat her." At some point Animal Control was called. (Which is the right thing to do if I dog is loose in the neighbourhood) She told the officer that she climbed the fence to get to her. The pool lady eventually let my dog out of the bathroom and out of the pool gate. Saying she feared for her life. A few questions I have before I go on...
1.) If my dog is so vicious how did she get the dog in the bathroom?
2.) If she feared for her life why would she let the dog OUT into the public area instead of locking her in the pool area and getting herself out of "danger"?
I got to the seen after doing the process of elimination and talking to several of my neighbours trying to find my dog. They said the officer was at their house trying to figure out what happened and where this vicious dog could be and who she belongs to. I went to the complex and found the officer. He told me he was just trying to find out if the dog actually attacked someone. Which of course she had not. She is a sweet 8 year old Mama dog that lives with children and two adults.
I got in contact with animal control the very next business day and spoke with them reassuring them that she is not vicious and she in vaccinated and licensed in Carmichael. I am in compliance with these issues. It is unfortunate that my dog got out that afternoon. There is a hole in the chain link fence that is covered with ivy that we have since patched. We have lived at this residence for over a year. She has not gotten out until this instance.
I understand this issue is concerning. I have done everything in my power to apise this lady and make sure I am in compliance with the law. However this lady continues to harrass my family and Animal Control. I can hear her over the fence taunting my the dogs in my backyard and in my nieghbours yard. I hear her talk about my family with my kids in the backyard. I am at my wits end with this woman. I have called to police but obviously they have better thing to take care of. She has called Animal Control SEVERAL times a day complaining my dog is barking. She is inside while I am at work. There is several dogs in this neighborhood.
I am wondering if anyone has some advise for me on how to deal with this. Or maybe some contacts that i can call and have my issue heard? Anything will help me at this point! THANK YOU FOR READING!
