Finally the rains have subsided and, after missing the Christmas concert and association meetings, we are able to get back to community involvement. Our next meeting is on April 9th 9:30 AM. at the Alona/River Ln cul-de-sac.

Bristol/Memory Lane corner ?– Starbucks and Subway will be opening soon. Rite-Aid has been open since December.

Honer Plaza ?– Kohl?’s and Target have been open since December.

Memory Lane chain link fence is a dead issue. A request for additional funding from the city to improve the fence was turned down. It appears the landscaping business has moved. We will have to find out who the owner of the corner is or who we have to work with to improve the appearance of the chain link fence. Joe Rodriguez from City Code Enforcement will try to contact the owner of the property about planting bougainvillea along the chain link fence. Mike Lucio shall cooperate with Joe.

Maintenance of Memory Lane/Pacific & Bristol/Park Lane corners. We have a gardener who will do the maintenance for $45/mo if approved by the board. We will talk to the homeowners involved to get their permission to do the maintenance.

The Neighborhood Association membership list is being updated as we have several new neighbors.

The Christmas Concert, which was scheduled for last December 5th, was rained out. The concert for this coming year is scheduled for Sunday, December 11, 2005.

3rd place 1318 Marcella Ln.

Gift certificates of $50 each will be awarded to the winners during the meeting.

We are open for nominations for the City of Santa Ana Best Yard of the year.

Sonny Duong, of 2606, N. Alona, has been selected as our neighborhood hero of the year.

Dumpster Day ?– dumpsters will again be provided by the city on Saturday May 14. We will need volunteers to monitor the dumpsters.

The dumpster locations will be in front of:
1433 Marcella Ln.
1505 River Ln.

Shopping carts are being left in our neighborhood. Please report the abandoned carts to the appropriate store so that they can be retrieved. Call 1-888-233-2278 for retrieval.

You are invited to join the ?“Santa Ana River Task Group?”. Volunteers are needed to help with graffiti removal. Application forms can be obtained from Eli San Jose. Call him at 714-836-1544 if you are interested.

The annual Floral Park Home and Garden Tour is scheduled for April 23 & 24. Vintage homes from the 1920?’s to 1950?’s will be on display, as well as gardens and classic cars. The tour takes place from 10 AM to 4 PM. Tickets are $20, or $17 in advance. To purchase visit www.floral-park.com.
