FYI:

There were numerous cars broken into early this morning.  The windows were busted out and items were stolen out of the cars.  The police were called but, there are no known suspects as of yet.  Please remember not to leave items out in plain view if you are parking a vehicle outside.  If your car was broken into, please call the police and file a report. 

We live in the Lakes of Rivertrails and one of my teenage daughers friends was outside at 1 am last Thursday and someone in a truck pulled up and stopped, got out and was looking in mine and my daughers cars when the neighbor, my daughters friend, asked what are you doing.  The guy ran off got in the truck and when he drove by had something covering the license plate so if you want maybe the police can talk to her about what kind of truck it was because I assure you that is what they would have done had they not been caught.

I work at a police department and have learned to never leave ANYTHING  in my car.  Even if you hide it someone can find it, happens all the time. And if suspect(s) see a backpack, laptop bag or gym bag that may or may not contain items of value, they will do a "smash and grab" by breaking window just to grab item.  Just an FYI.

Also, if you have items of value such as your vehicle's stereo system or even electronics in your home, its a good idea to try to copy its serial number.  Suspect(s) are known to pawn stuff, and that's one way to track your item and hopefully return it to you.
