NEIGHBORHOOD SPEED LIMIT

CCB's 25 MPH SPEED LIMIT

Please Be aware that the speed limit in our neighborhood is 25 MPH. This includes not only residents, but guests, the pizza delivery man and any other visitor.

We currently have too many individuals speeding through the neighborhood in excess of 40 to 50 mph.

Please be aware there are many children in the neighborhood and even at moderate speeds, serious or fatal injuries could result. Can you afford the tragedy of hitting a child in our neighborhood to get home 20 seconds earlier??

Your voluntary cooperation and compliance is appreciated.

We have been forced to install speed "dots" at both the park and at the bend of Canyon Brook and they have caused some to at least hit the brakes but speeding continues in our neighborhood.

We are monitoring the situation and if homeowners continue to report widespead occurrences of excessive vehicle speeds, then we will have no choice but to look into the installation of more agressive speed "bumps" or "humps" as in the H.E.B. parking lot. They are noisy and are an expense to the association so we would rather not have to pursue this remedy. It is up to each of us to monitor our own speeds for the safety of our neighborhood and its children.

CCB "lots for sale" sign at Entrance finally removed 02/2003

You may not have noticed, but the old deteriorating wooden sign that has been standing vigil over our beautiful CCB entrance for over nine years is finally history. Your board coordinated with ProComm for its removal. The few remaining lots are being shown on an individual basis and the sign was no longer a factor in their sale.

CCB Security Gate System being bid for Overhaul and Repair

As you may have noticed, our gates have been working only intermittently as the power operators for both the entrance and exit gates are in bad need of major repair. We are putting out an RFP to local gate maintenance companies for a complete overhaul and repair of not only the controllers but the power operators foundations as well. We should be awarding the contract this month and hope to have all repairs done within two weeks from that point. When they are complete, we plan to close both gates 24X7 for the first time in the history of CCB. We are hoping to reduce the number of unwanted vendors and other uninvited visitors to our community.
