This site is intended to wet your appetite for the day to come in the not to distant future when the Camden Ridge HOA Board of Directors meets and makes a decision on the policies and procedures, hosted location, type of site (free like this one or fee for hosting), content, etc of an officially sanctioned neighborhood web site.
I am trying to keep the information on this site current, with neighborhood, Auburn City, Opelika City, and State of Alabama news, events, and relevant information. I would direct your attention to the Newsletter Link, which I am updating weekly at a minimum, with press releases and HOA information as it is mailed out to us.
The Community Pages section contains links to HOA documents and local and state representatives. I have also included links for parents to the Auburn Public Library, and all schools for which Camden Ridge is zoned, in case that is important to you. You should have the ability to add links as well.
The idea here is to spark discussion, possibly on this discussion board, as to what you would like to see in your HOA web site. Tony Cook is a coordinator on this site and one of our recently announce Board Members, so he can take this information back to the HOA Board of Directors.
This is a free site, so we are very limited in how much of the content can be customized to our desires. There are organizations that design and host web sites specifically for HOAs. Most of these charge around $200 to set up a site, then around $30 - $35 per month to host the site. If we are willing to put up with advertisements on our site, we could avoid costs to the HOA by selling ads to local service providers at a rate of $40 per year. That's pretty cheap advertisement by most companies standards, and would only require 9 ads to be sold to break even. Just food to start the thought process.
