Our Hennepin County representative resigns

The Hennepin County Board of Commissioners has officially accepted the resignation of third district Commissioner Mark Andrew and set a special election to fill his term. Hennepin County's Third District covers the part of south Minneapolis that includes our neighborhood.
The election will take place March 30, 1999. Filing will open February 3 and close February 12. If more than two candidates file for the office, a primary election will be held March 16. The winner of the March 30 election will take office immediately and serve the remainder of a four-year term that ends Dec. 31, 2000.
Where to vote? The fire station at Market Plaza and Excelsior Blvd.
