Respect-O-Meter: Neighbor

Hello,

What is the accepted term of office for the President of a neighborhood association?  1 year?  We've gone for over three years with the same president and neighbors are starting ask.

Thanks,

Steve

Steve,

I have just read over the bylaws from the link on the front page and the original terms of office for all board members was one year. I then came across an amendment to the bylaws of which I just added to the links section, that covers changing the terms of office to staggered two year terms. At this point I am not sure as to what offices are coming up for election but I believe there are two and I don't think the President's office is one of them. From what I do understand, the current President was re-elected and is currently fulfillng his second term in office.

Since I have started attending meetings since moving into the community last May I can tell you that getting information out to the residents is a top prority with the Board. But, with all the other duties and responsibilities that come along sometimes this priority gets pushed lower down the ladder. I can tell you that there is a push to publish a forthcoming newsletter in the coming weeks before Easter.

I am doing my best to do what I can to help this Board to gather, publish and distribute pertinent information to the residents either via this web site and or in a newsletter. I love the fact that we can put our newsletters on this site and I hope to see them more often during the year so we can all be more in the know. Other than that I'd like to invite all residents to come to a meeting to hear what's going on. The upcoming annual meeting would be a good one to come to also.
