Budget Don?’t Forget to Vote in November

September 15, 2002

Here we are again, another year gone by and another annual meeting. Thank you to everyone who took the time out of his or her busy schedules to attend the meeting. Thank you to the Board members for their help this past year.

At the meeting, our State Senator, Dori Connor was there with her very informative legislative updates. Representative Bruce Reynolds sent his regrets and was unable to attend due to family obligations. Also in attendance was Chip O?’Conner from the NCC Office of Community Governing.

The budget and assessment were approved. A copy of the budget is enclosed. The assessment is $35.00, which is due October 1, 2002. At the August Board of Directors meeting, a few adjustments were made to the Collection Time Line. A copy is enclosed.

By acclimation, the Board of Directors were elected. Eileen Green has switched from Sergeant of Arms to Chairperson of Phase 1 Townhouses. We have a new board member; Sergeant of Arms is Celita Brooks.

Vice-president Bill Lyons gave an update on the Motiva CAP group meetings that he has been attending. Dori Connor has offered financial assistance to install a neighborhood sign on route 13 at the entrance to the development. Two homeowners have agreed to be on a committee to look into the sign.

Vice-president Bill Lyons and I attend a web page set up meeting at the Bear Library. The BVPMC site address is located on the top of the page. Information and newsletters will be posted there. (Continued page 2)

Again at this year?’s meeting, there were concerns voiced that are civic association related. There seems to be some interest there, but another appeal in last year?’s newsletter for someone to step up to the plate and take charge of forming a civic association has gone unanswered again. Until someone is interested enough to take responsibility no civic functions will be accomplished.

DNREC requires a yearly notice to homeowners about spraying for mosquitoes. The spray used is low volume and biodegradable. If you do not wish to have your property sprayed, contact me so I can notify DNREC. There will be a sign put out the evening that spraying is to take place, weather permitting.

As always, I have copies of the deed restrictions and the by-laws if anyone would like a copy.
