CITY WIDE NEWS OF INTEREST

The Solid Waste Authority has announced plans for a recycling complex (Kentucky New Era). We need to be more aware of the harmful effects of litter and landfills, and join in this effort. A partnership may possibly be obtained through our neighborhood, and also with a citywide concerted effort, we may be able to offer recycling of paper, aluminum, and glass waste. Let?’s consider turning our trash into treasure.
Please keep an eye out for news articles of interest. Feel free to clip these articles out, and bring and share them at our meetings. An on-going scrapbook of this type will help us be in lune with the City?’s vision.

THE FAMILY AQUATIC CENTER

Residents of Hopkinsville often utter, ?“There is nothing to do in Hopkinsville,?” as a reason to migrate their dollars to surrounding communities. Well here is some good news. The Family Aquatic Center is set to open, successfully.
Although there was much division surrounding its conception, now that it is a reality, let us band together to support this vision. Family is important to our community, and a safe, fun, constructive outlet for our youth is a positive step in the right direction.
On that note, let us also remember and support our local YMCA, and Boys and Girl?’s Club.

BSNA ASSOCIATION NEWS

The Bryan Street Neighborhood Association received $4,500.00 of the initial seed money that is available from the City of Hopkinsville! This allowed the Bryan Street Neighborhood Association to move ahead into the planning stages of our projects.
Our next step was forming an Empowerment Plan and Partnership Agreements, which allowed us to tap into the remaining $3,000.00 in funds available from the City.
If you have not mailed or sent in the survey mailed to you last month, please do so soon. The survey helps us identify our strengths, weaknesses, and desires for our neighborhood.
If you have concerns, birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, military news, etc. that you would like included in our Neighborhood Newsletter, please call 886-9330 (Elaine or Nikki), or contact any BSNA member, and ask them to pass it on.
