WALK DON'T DESTROY 2

In This Issue:

Join PSN for WALK DON'T DESTROY 2, a fundraiser for DDDB's Legal
Effort, October 21st

Dear Park Slope Neighbor:

PSN has put together a team and will be walking to raise funds for
the legal fight against the proposed "Atlantic Yards" project. We're
encouraging you to join us as a walker or to pitch in by contributing
funds.

The Walkathon is scheduled for Saturday, October 21st, and will kick
off at 12 noon at the Prospect Park Bandshell. The two-mile walk
route will wind through Prospect Park, returning to the Bandshell for
an afternoon of free music, fun activities for kids, food and more.

There's a strong possibility that the fight to stop or significantly
alter the proposed "Atlantic Yards" will come down to a battle in the
courts. The legal case against the use of eminent domain and the
flimsiness of the environmental review process is strong, but it
takes money to field a top-notch legal team, and that's where this
Walkathon comes in. Raising money and awareness is vital to the
effort.

Registering for the Walkathon is easy. Just go to
http://www.dddb.net/walkathon, click on REGISTER HERE, then JOIN A
TEAM, and select "Park Slope Neighbors" from the pull-down menu.
Then follow the remaining steps to complete your registration. It
all takes less than five minutes.

If you register as a walker, you'll get the following, all in a
user-friendly format:

- A personalized donation page
- Online donations
- Email templates to send to your friends/sponsors with a link to
your donation page
- Reports that track who has visited your page
- Reports that track the donations you've received

If you need help registering, please contact Elena Park at 847-927-7275.

If you would like to contribute but can't participate, please visit
http://www.dddb.net/walkathon, click on "Park Slope Neighbors" under
"Team Rank" on the right-hand side (or click "More" if PSN isn't in
the top five), and then click "General Team Donation" and follow the
instructions.

It's easy to take part, so please get started right now. The fight
to protect Brooklyn from massive over-development - and its
consequences - depends on all of us!

Sincerely,

Eric McClure
