Update on covenants

Re: Roofing shingles

It was discussed at our last board meeting that our current covenants reguarding the shingles in the neighborhood are obsolete and no longer applicable.
We as a group have decided that since the "Masonite" shingle is no longer manufactured, and that the expense of tile roofing is not cost effective, and wood shake shingles are not legal, that there will be an allowed alternative.
This alternative will be what is deemed an "architecturally dimensional" asphalt shingle (simulated shake).
This shingle will have a minimum longevity of 30 years. The manfacturer and color will be picked out by the homeowner and submitted for approval by the architectural chairperson and shall be reviewed by the President of the board. If the shingle is not approved then the homeowner shall pick another shingle to submit for approval. If no prior approval is sought then the homeowner is subject to removing and re-roofing with an approved shingle. If there are any questions reguarding your shingles please contact a board member to discuss your specfic needs.
