Dogs Off Leash

Posted in: Quincy Hill Townhouse
I would just like to know if I am just the unfortunate soul that at least 2-3 times a week is surprised by one of the unleashed large dogs racing up to my small dog. This is a disaster waiting to happen and I DO NOT CARE IF THE OWNER'S PROFESS THAT THEIR DOG IS FRIENDLY (which everyone does); my dog doesn't like other dogs and I don't appreciate the surprise element. Neither the townhome association nor animal control will take any action unless there is an injury or they can catch the dog running. I would certainly hate to see a child, adult or a pet have to suffer this indignity and/or life changing event in order to have what is the law enforced. LEASH THE DOGS AND HOLD ONTO THE LEASH.
Please let me know if I am the only one that has an issue. If you haven't encountered this and walk your dog regularly, you will certainly encounter it at some point.
Watch out for the pair of huskies that keep escaping their fenced area since their owners don't seem to realize they can easily ''walk'' over those fences. The dogs go wild every time you pass their fence and I saw them running loose one day--very scary.
Dogs off leash

I agree with the above. Summer is around the corner; this means that the kids will be outside playing. It would be extremely unfortunate if one of these big dogs attack even one of our children. And I hope that this doesn't have to happen in order for our dog-owning neighbors to fully understand the consequences.

The Cherry Creek dog park is a great place to let your dogs run free.
Off Leash Dogs

I feel your pain. My little dog was attacked by what they now call a ''bully dog''. I went to Gart Bros and bought pepper spray that I carry with me every time I am out with my dog. So far I have not had to use it, but I do practice using it so I hope I won't spray myself in the face.
Sick & Tired

I am glad you took the time to respond. I have lived in this complex 3-1/2 years. The first 2 years were quiet, pleasant and I never even thought about a dog attacking my dog. I feel like I am on high alert now every time I go for a walk with my little dog as the large, unleashed dogs appear before you know what hit you. It is sad when you want to go for a walk (which should be a pleasant experience) and you have to carry protection in your own back yard. I don't know why leash laws are even made as it isn't enforced. Also, some dog owners seem to think that someone else should be picking up their dogs' waste.
