NO plastic wrap or plastic bags in your green carts.   Do not bag anything in that green cart.  When you bag you cost us all more money.   IT now cost over 2 million a year to haul trash out of the recycling center to the speedway landfill.    Save us all some money, and do it right.

Putting wrong items in carts also causes damage to the equipment sorting the materials, and sometimes injures staff in the recycling MRF.  

If you want to bag cans empty the bag into your green cart.   You are NOT HELPING tossing a tied bag of cans in the cart.  That bag is NEVER opened and ends up sorted out or pulled out and in the trash truck.   AGAIN NEVER OPENED at the MRF. 

If you are slow and can't do it right for whatever reason then just trash everything and STOP Recycling.  City will pick up your green cart if you call 311.  

Doing it wrong is not helpful!

Also remember city does not pick up yard waste in plastic bags.   This week we still have locations putting stuff out in plastic bags.  That ended over 2 1/2 years ago.  Paper only or personal containers.    No tarps.   

Nothing goes curbside before the day prior to pickup. Fines starts at $150 and can go up to $500 each violation depending on how many times you have been corrected by code enforcement.
