Traffic congestion at Kingswood School  in the mornings is bad, but in the afternoon it is starting to get worse due to street venders.  At first, there was one, but today I noticed an additional one catering to children.  Altho there is a crosswalk with a guard to cross Primrose, many parents and their children cross in the middle of the block.  It appears that these parents are teaching their children that it is O.K. to jaywalk.

The next meeting of the Birdcage Heights Neighborhood Association will be on February 16th and 7:00 PM at Skycrest Elementary.  We will be discussing 2 items that may be of concern to you:  First, the police department will have a code enforcement officer there.  I bet she will have something to say about the street vendors.  Secondly, as part of our neighborhood improvement fund, we are considering a couple of traffic features that we would like to add in front of both of our neighborhood schools.  I look forward to seeing you there.  John Silveira - President Area11

I agree that we need to work on improving the traffic situation from both Kingswood and Skycrest Elementary. Maybe we can form a committee that can work on ideas to help reduce this problem. We have resources available through our Citrus Heights Police Department as well as contacts within the schools themselves and demand more parent involvement. We can also work together as a neighborhood to try and find ideas that can use our Neighborhood Improvement Funding for a Capitol Improvement Project that may help as well.
