Target

Posted in: Big Bear Farms
I have just read the homeowners association newsletter and I am wondering why the Community Oversight Committee stuff was included. I felt that group and their radical message was being pushed down my throat. I for one welcome Target into the community!! These same people who are fighting so hard to ban Target are senior citizens in the Woodcutter and Stonebridge condos who are also the same people who will vote NO on our next school levy. They do not want taxes to go up, yet they refuse to allow industry to help. Target will be a large tax base that will support our children and our schools. Say YES to Target!
I know we have no say as this is a Powell project, not the Township, so I wonder why it's so prominent in our newsletter.
Response on Target

I disagree with you on the purpose of the oversight committee. I ALWAYS believe that it's a good idea to review anything new coming into our neighborhoods over and over again. I believe the Oversight Committee does that.

I'm actually 50/50 on the target. It's not like it's going to be a heck of lot shorter of a distance to go there as opposed to the Target South of us. We're talking about 2 miles. the negative side is is that the country feeling that exists will be removed from that area. What's worth more to you?
Agree with response on Target

Add Target to your plans when you head out to do your other shopping. I like the idea of not adding traffic and keeping the smaller stores doing business here. If you live in BBF you are close to everything, unlike living in Scioto Reserve. Count your blessings. I usually have to go down to the Sawmill 161 area several times a week. I like Andersons, Lowes, Home Depot, Kohls, Staples, Target, Petsmart, Hhgregg, and many of the restaurants. I do not want all of that here. I just plan to hit them all at one time.

I am very glad our HOA is keeping us informed about what is going on. Many people complained they did not before. We finally get some good communication and already there are complaints.

Call them and discuss your concerns about Target.

To Agree

It's not the Target itself, it's the tax revenue it will bring to the schools. If I was confident that these same people who are against Target would vote for the next school levy, I would say great, I can drive down Sawmill to Target. We need some industry in our country town or we need to pony up the taxes ourselves. Is everyone against Target willing to accept more taxes?
