Collection Schedule

Residents of Berry Valley enjoy the convenience of curb-side pickup of household trash, yard debris and recyclables. This page provides information such as collection schedule, rules about what Waste Management of So. MD will pick up, and what's recyclable.

Contract: The Berry Valley Community Association has a limited contract with Waste Management of So. MD. The customer service number for all customer inquires and requests is 800.553.7771.



Collection Schedule

Trash is collected each Tuesday and Friday morning.

Recyclables are collected on Tuesday (A week).

To schedule a pick up for bulky or unusual items residents should contact Waste Management of So. MD at 800.553.771.

You may put the item at curb-side AFTER 7pm the night before the pick-up, NOT before. FYI: The Salvation Army welcomes donations and will gladly pick up large items including furniture and appliances in working order. Call 1-800-95-TRUCK to schedule a pick-up. Please note: We will always post changes to the trash pickup schedule as soon as we know.

Inclement Weather & Holiday Schedules

Snow Storm Collection Schedule

If we get a big snow storm on a trash pick-up day, you can assume that trash trucks will not be able to negotiate our community streets. So put out your trash the next day and put your recyclables out the next pick-up day.



2007 Holiday Collection Schedule

Trash/Recycling will not be collected on the following holidays.

Thanksgiving Day: Friday, November 23rd
Christmas Day: Tuesday, December 25th
New Years Day: Monday, January 1st
Please note: Christmas trees will NOT be picked up. You must dispose of them properly.

Collection Rules

Rules On Trash Collection

For everyday trash, use tightly tied bags. This is necessary because when the containers are being emptied, loose trash is scattered all over the place, making a disgusting mess, inviting rodents, and making you an unlikely candidate for "Favorite Neighbor" status.

No Trash Before 7:00 pm: Place trash curbside no earlier than 7:00 pm the night before pickup. Placing it curbside before 6:00 am the morning of pickup is sufficient.

Hide Those Trash Cans and Recycling Bins: These must be stored in your garage, home, or backyard, not in your front or side yard. Your neighbors appreciate your doing this as soon as possible after trash collection. You may be fined for this.

Bulk Items Picked Up for an Additional Charge. Call Waste Management of So. MD at 800.553.771 to schedule a pick-up for anything bigger than what will fit into your trashcan or bag. You must contact for pricing information. They will tell you when they can make the special pick-up. You may put the items at curb-side AFTER 7pm the night before the pick-up, NOT before.
