Wind, rain and clouds, not this year. After two tries, the autumn picnic was finally held out-of-doors as planned. Saturday, October 6th turned out to be a warm, sunny, and windless day.
Forty-one people showed up for the annual event. Those attending included new residents Kerry and Heather Graham and Cheryl Jones. Others were Helen Burns, Judy and Darrel Rickard, Sandie and Roger Dolese and there friend Matt, Dan and Debbie Casement, Bill Pitts, and Frankie Taylor.
Also attending were Donna and Lloyd Gatewood, Steve, Mary and Gary Lalli and their friend Dylan, Debbi, Johnny, and Sophie Burns, Emma Jeanne Bartlett, Fran Meyers, Gayla Kroeger, Annie Wyatt, Russell Perry, and his family, Jennifer, Rowdy Colt, and Falcon Claw McDoulett, and Zack, Amy, Trey, Chelsea, Tori, and Trinity Perry.
Special guests were our State Legislator Robert Worthen, and our Firefighters from Station #17.
The Belle Isle View N.P.A. provided the delicious bar-b-qued brisket and chicken. Neighbors brought such scrumptious dishes as Ramen Noodle Chicken Salad, Mocha Brownies, Orange Blossom Pound Cake, Pasta Salad, Baked Beans, Baked Potatoes, Scalloped Potatoes, Corn Bread, Potato Salad, Rolls and a Fruit Platter. Our most unusual dish was venison chili, which also tasted wonderful!
The Firefighters showed off their Fire Engine.
A scavenger hunt included both adult and child participants. Mary Lalli was the first adult to find everything on her list. She won a first place medal and a set of coasters. Rowdy McDoulett was the first child finished. He also won a first place medal and a Slip-N-Slide. Tables were set up at the Gatewood?’s yard with festive fall tablecloths and centerpieces. The games were set up at the Lalli?’s yard.
