I know that many of us have had difficulty in keeping our attendance high at our neighborhood association meetings so I thought we could start a discussion on ways to increase attendance. Kind of bounce ideas off one another.

My experience

I know that in the past the main way to increase attendance is to let crime increase or have one issue that is really bothersome to the neighborhood. Then, amazingly, attendance goes way up. That happen to anyone else?
Increase meeting attendance

Hello Greg,
I have that same concern. Maybe if the meetings are held at different venues, say, every other month, maybe at different restaurants. Also, try having the meetings at one of the local schools in your associations area. You may also want to try having some type of activity at the meetings, something the citizens can contribute to, say an arts & crafts display; or have some of the children perform a dance, etc.

Caldwood Attendance

Your right Greg. In the Caldwood neighborhood everyone gets complacent when the crime rate goes down. We will see at our next meeting how many people show up asking how to protect themselves now that we have had a rape in the area.
