New & Not So Improved plan

At the June 15th Chesterton Advisory Plan Commission Board meeting, PBR presented their ''new and improved'' mall proposal. While it was better than hte previous proposal, it still leaves much to be desired. The board members made excellent comments and suggestions which are to be addressed at the next meeting on July 20th. One of my comments was that ''a box, is a box, is a box, and there's no getting around it.'' The original LEL proposal was desgined to look like a little old downtown. The new proposal looks just like any other mall around the country. Too bad.

TARGET & KOHL'S

So I've been told that Target and Kohl's are the two big boxes that will anchor the PBR development. PHOOEY! It didn't take ANY brains to figure Target & Kohl's would jump to this site after their defeat with GK. Neither PBR, nor Target & Kohl's were listening when residents said they wanted something else... it's obvious they could give a rat's ass what we want - it's all about MONEY. And OUR MONEY at that! Why can't we be ''different'' from every other place?? This is nothing more than a same 'ol, same 'ol strip mall being proposed. No imagination, just ashphalt & square buildings in a row. This is nothing like what was originally proposed by LEL. How can Chesterton ALLOW this to go forward??? RESIDENTS OF CHESTERTON, STAND UP AND BE HEARD!!!! CHANGE THIS BEFORE YOU JUST MELT INTO OVERDEVELOPED OBLIVION!!
