Balt Co Bill 78-91,

Posted in: Carney
Through the above bill, apparently Balt County has established a Voluntary Participation in Local Open Space Costs Program. How does the County decide how to use these funds for open space acquisition? Can the public request that a particular site be considered? It apparently is funded by voluntary contributions. The program (per county info) is intended to facilitate and encourage voluntary contributions by Balt County residents to be used to fund the acquisition of land for open space parcels as authorized by supplemental budget appropriations. I was not aware of such a program until today, and thought others would be interested to know of its existence.

Money for parks

It would be nice if the county would use some of this money to buy land in this area for new parks. The assisted living sight would be nice. They also need to improve the park at Uxbridge and Appleton Road.
