Board Meetings Comments, Suggestions, Complaints...

Hello GPMA residents. I have read that member in our community would like certain items discussed at the GPMA monthly meetings. Well here is you chance. Please make you comments, suggestions, complaints, concerns here in this forum.

Please place the date of you comments first. That will allow me to go through the forum each month by a bigger date then the little ones on the side. Then include what you'd like discussed. As the Vice President, I will make sure your comments are heard and answered. I will then open a new forum to discuss each problem.

!! Please only make a comment here. I will not be answering anything here !!

Thank you for your interest in our community;

Steven Scott

Vice President of Glasgow Pines Maintenance Association.

Would the BOARD take into consideration the residents who live right by the clubhouse when they are renting it out on Sundays ??  It really is not fair to have my kids unable to sleep because the music is too loud.  We can actully feel the vibration from it.  I know I am not the only one who has a problem with this.  We can deal with the weekends, but returning to work/school is another issue.

Thanks

What is the rule for noise in this community, and is there a special time for peace and quiet?

Do you mean is there a curfew?  No...., but there is a County noise ordinance

a few paragraphs from the County Code:

i.   It shall be unlawful for any person within any residential district to repair, rebuild, test, race or gun any motor vehicle between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. of the following day in such a manner that would create a noise disturbance.

b.   Radios, televisions sets, phonographs and similar devices.    i.   Operating or permitting the use or operation of any radio receiving set, musical instrument, television, phonograph, drum, speaker or loudspeaker or other device for the production or reproduction of sound in such a manner as to cause a noise disturbance. ii.   Operating any such device, as listed in subsection (B)(2)b.i of this Section between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and the following 8:00 a.m. in such a manner as to be: (a)   Plainly audible through partitions common to two (2) parties within a building; or (b)   Across real property boundaries as to create a noise disturbance.

d.   Animals.  Owning, possessing, harboring or controlling any animal or bird which causes a noise disturbance by barking, baying, crying, squawking or by making any other noise continuously or incessantly for a period of ten (10) minutes or which makes such noises intermittently for one-half ( 1/2) hour or more; provided, however, that at the time the animal or bird is making such noise no person is trespassing or threatening to trespass upon private property in or upon which the animal or bird is situated or that no person other than the owner, controller or possessor of the animal was teasing or provoking the animal or bird at the time it made such noise. For purposes of this Section the term "animals and birds" shall not include livestock or poultry which are raised or kept as part of a farm operation which is actively devoted to the production for sale of plants and animals useful to people.

e.   Loading operations.  Loading, unloading, opening or otherwise handling boxes, crates, containers or other similar objects between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. the following day, in such manner as to create a noise disturbance within a residential district, except during an emergency.

f.   Construction noise.  Operating or causing to be operated any equipment used in commercial construction, repair, alteration or demolition work on buildings, structures, streets, alleys or appurtenances thereto in the following manner:  i.   With sound control devices that have been tampered with. ii.   In violation of any regulation of the United States Environmental Protection Agency. iii.   Between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. the following day on weekdays and between 10:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evening and 9:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday mornings or between 10:00 p.m. the day before and 9:00 a.m. the day of a legal holiday which creates a noise disturbance, except as provided in this Section.
