County plans for Fort Smallwood and Janet Weinberg Park

The Master Plan for Fort Smallwood and the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Park has been completed and approved by the planning committee. There will be a public hearing sometime in April (likely at Notheast High School) to hear public comments and input. The two parks are not connected but will be operated by a single crew of park rangers. Some highlights of the park plan include:

Fort Smallwood
- Two lane county boat ramp
- Updated facilities
- Hawk and bird watching platform
- Kiteboarding launching area
- Dog Beach
- Sixty foot tall flag

Weinberg Park:
- Nature observatory
- Group camping
- Canoe launching area
