Board of Directors Minutes Sept 10

Present: Stephen Cotton, Ken McFarland, Ken Williams, Ray Crider, Ray Whitener, Kathy Recktenwald, Tony Spratt
Absent:
Karen Boston, Sharon Spratt

Secretary: 68 listed as attemding the Aug mtg. Articles of Incorporation as being processed. Membership contact information received from Renay Davis. Secretary will be responsible for future meeting notifications to the general membership.

Treasurer: Reminded that that Auburndale has no dues requirement and our income is dependent upon contributions and fund raising. Due to the success of the notification yard signs, the Board directed the treasurer to order 30 more.

Notication signs are posted monthly beginning wednesday prior the following tuesday meeting date.

VP Ken McFarland reported the NatureScape Grant has been submitted to Brigtside. The plan is to beautify and call attention to entrances along the four corners of the ANA boundaries. The Board thanked Ken Williams, Ken McFarland, Tony Spratt, and Stephen for a job well done!

Public Safty Chair Ken Williams reported the LMPD DRO is scheduled to attend the Sept meeting.

Public Works Chair Stephen Cotton distributed maps of the neighborhood and discussed the need to adopt a strategic view in order to affect significant change and improvement within the neighborhood, to discinguish between complaints and those issues requiring planning strategy

Ray Whitener reminded that Board that EMA Director Doug Hamilton is scheduled to address the Sept meeting and a forum is scheduled for October to hear a summary of issues facing the 2010 Kentucky General Assembly

December Christmas Program - The Board recommended moving the meeting date back one week to Dec 15. Kathy Recktenwald will be taking the lead in organizing this Auburndale Family Event

Ray Whitener reminded the Board to make sure that we leave the Cafeteria as we found it. Board members will stay afterwards to make any needed corrections.
