What is the Community Listening Session all about?
The New Cut Road / Taylor Boulevard Corridor Community Listening Session is a citizen-driven effort to hear from residents as they share their ideas, voice their opinions, help choose priorities and then go to work to forge the community’s future. The process is facilitated by the City Solutions Center and will be transparent and inclusive of all community residents.

  1. Who hired the City Solutions Center?  The New Cut Road / Taylor Boulevard Corridor District Metro Council Members have a contractual agreement with the City Solutions Center, (a partnership between the University of Louisville and the Kentucky League of Cities) to facilitate this community discussion and to provide advice to the leadership of the city about ways to engage as many residents and other stakeholders as possible in the process and to develop a design plan for the corridor.
  2. What areas will be discussed?  Any of the following areas are open to discussion (but not limited to):  quality of life, community efficiency, safety, infrastructure, beautification, planning and development, regional/metro cooperation, environmental protection, greenspace, transportation, neighborhood plans, educational relationships and heritage preservation.
  3. If I get involved, how much time will it take?  Metro Council Members Welch, D-13; Butler, D-15, Johnson, D-21 and Yates, D-25;  are interested in obtaining citizen input regarding the future of the New Cut Road / Taylor Boulevard Corridor. We encourage all residents to attend this two-hour meeting.  After the Community Listening Session, you may become as involved as you want by volunteering to work on a particular idea or becoming more engaged with the leaders of your city for a longer period of time.  Your Council Members welcome your commitment to be a part of this ongoing effort to preserve, protect, and improve the quality of life that citizens expect our community to provide.
