ANA Minutes June 28, 2011

Meeting Location:     Auburndale Baptist Church

Ken Williams opened the meeting at 7:00 pm and welcomed 40 ANA residents present.

APCD resresentative Matt Stull summarized activities now underway within the district and discussed in detail the agency goal for an "idle free district".

Lt Baker LMPD 3rd District summarized crime statistics for the area and invited all interested to the Open House scheduled for August 2nd at the SW Govt Center/.  He encouraged reporting to use 574-2111 (the automated system) and to dial "5" for the dispatcher when prompted to do so.

Ray Crider presented the treasurers report and reminded those present that the body has not set dues and funds received are strictly voluntary.  He also urged association members to attend the New Cut/Taylor Blvd Listening Session to be held July 23 at the Sts Mary & Elizabeth Hospital Community at 9 am.  Details found elsewhere on the ANA website.  ANA members Ray Crider, Stephen Cotton and Ray Whitener serve on this task force appointed by Mayor Fischer.

Steve Cotton reported that according to the City Web Site that junk pick-up will be September 2nd.

Ken McFarland summarized the Nazarene Youth Conference Cleanup project scheduled for July 6.  All parties to meet at Kenwood Elementary and fan out from there.  Additional adult volunteers are still needed.

Representative Mike Nemes presented Ken McFarland with a commission as Admiral in the Kentucky Navy for his extensive work with neighborhood cleanup and improvement projects.

Regarding elections, Ken McFarland was elected for another term as VP.  Ray Crider won another year as treasurer and three at-large members were returned to the board.
