I was just wondering the neighborhood take on the proposed "Solutions Center"

I was at the commisssion to end homelessness meeting last week and it sounds like a mini jail, another detox, or just a place to keep the homeless out of sight.

Basically, "you can check in any time you like but you can never leave"

The solutions center is a facility much like the one in Seattle

http://www.desc.org/crisis_solutions.htmlIts a wonderful way for the folks who need services to get hooked up to them.  This allows the city and the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless to fasttrack people into housing where they can get stabilized.  It's especially important for those folks with mental health issues to access services that allow them to get their meds as well.  The solutions center would be modeled after a health home where several different providers who are community experts would be able to work under one roof and provide all the different services that people in this situation need from substance abuse treatment to housing.
