Ric Cooley Resigns Board of Directors
At the Annual Meeting Ric Cooley announced that he would have to resign his position on the Board of Directors and as our Parliamentarian due to the pressure of work. In response to Ralph Humbert?’s comment that he would ?“no longer be with us?”, Ric assured the crowd that he wasn?’t dying or leaving the community just the Board of Directors. He further commented on how rewarding it was to be involved with the community and urged others to get involved at all levels.
We are, as a community, desolated. Who will make us line up to ask questions? Who will call us back to order when things start to get rowdy? Who will patiently explain the ground rules every time to those of us with memory lapses between meetings?
Ric we don?’t know how we will survive without you. We appreciate all the work and wisdom that you brought to us in this pivotal year.
Your chairing of the D-Deck Committee helped to highlight the special problems of those units and their neighbors in C. (For those of you new to the community D is the unit over the garages and C is right next door, then B and then A on the other end). Some solutions have been found for that problem and we are looking for more. Without your championing the cause of the D Deck members we would never have moved so far and so fast.
Your actions as parliamentarian helped to always keep our meetings dignified and productive. That wonderful ability to remain impartial and make sure all sides were heard was essential in this first tumultuous year and throughout the restoration decision process.
Come back to a meeting from time to time to keep us honest. Show up for events so we can remember when. And never forget to line up for the microphone when you wish to make a comment according to ?“Ric?’s Law?”.
Ric we?’ll miss you.
