Restoration Option 3 Passes By a Landslide!
At the Aspens Townhomes Annual Meeting held Monday, June 22nd at the Aurora Library, an overwhelming majority (93 of 109 members voting) selected Restoration Option 3 for the community. Under this plan the community has been divided into 5 Phases.
Each phase will be restored in turn. On the building exteriors: shingles will be power washed and stained, lapboard (plywood) siding will be repaired and repainted, heavy beams will be reinforced and repainted, decks and stairs will be treated and patio privacy fences replaced. Also included in the plan is a complete replacement of foundation landscaping and a brand new sprinkler system.
The second part of Phase 5 will see the restoration of the park, pool and ?“tennis?” court. Following the completion of each of the individual phases, workmen will start over again at Phase 1 and apply synthetic stucco (drivet or sto) to the plywood siding. This will wear much better than the existing material and will provide some additional insulation for the buildings.
To prevent further deterioration of later Phases while they are waiting for their turn, Phase 4 this year and Phase 5 next year will be painted and minor repairs attended to throughout all of their buildings.
Now for the best part - all of this will be accomplished without the need for any additional assessments.
Phase 1 may begin this summer or in the following spring (depending on the availability of the restoration experts to start) talk to your district representative or read this newsletter for updates. Meetings and other communication will be provided for residents in each Phase so you will be prepared for what will be involved in restoring your property and what cooperation will be needed from you during the process.
