My Amazon Fire TV went out 5 days ago. I immediately looked online for a new one, but due to a hectic schedule this week I did not order one yet. I also watched dozens of videos on how to repair a black screen with the still sound working. The TV worked fine until one day it was just a black screen. Nothing worked. I had planned to take the back off the tv this am and try the tape trick on one of the ribbon cable connections to the T-Con board. I turned on my second TV and a youtube video pops up how to fix an Amazon Fire TV with a black screen. It listed all the same suggestions all the other videos said do. Unplug, manual push button under fire tv logo. replace power cord etc. Then something new popped up. Take a hair dryer and set it on med high setting. Blow the components through the vents on the back for 5 minutes. Then let it cool for 15 minutes and turn the tv on. It literally worked. TV came right on with picture and looks great.
