Well, thanks for clarifying and almost coming our from behind the curtain! We welcome the discourse. We've accomplished a lot and you'll be hearing about our list of achievements right here soon...maybe even in the newspaper! If you ever choose to get involved, you're more than welcome to sit in on the neighborhood meetings and learn what we're doing and what we've already accomplished. Adam has made great strides getting both of the businesses you mention involved with us by engaging in conversation about truck routing to help reduce traffic in the residential areas. Erin and Peter have crafted excellent, professional reports about traffic calming recommendations. Our recent presentation about the Egypt/422/Brower corridor project was well received by PennDOT. If you care to spend any time getting to know us and see what we've proposed to the Township, the County, the State and others, you'd understand how we are engaged in facilitating responsible change. We are meeting with ALD and we'll see if they choose to be responsive...however your neighbors and the Township has told us they usually aren't. Until recently, even the Township was generally unresponsive. Most of the folks who post here are directly, personally involved and CONTRIBUTING to some forward-looking activity or initiative that will not restrict development but improve the quality of future expansion or construction. If you are satisfied with the quality of the surrounding community, no one forcing you to speak up, participate or attend. But please spare us the 'you haven't been here long enough' BS. Everyone, regardless of tenure, by virtue of where they live is entitled to a say. You don't get a seat up front just because you've been here a long time. What you do have is perspective, like others in the group who have been here through a lot of changes, and you could contribute rather than complain. This group got started because we want more than the minimum required by the Township and those who impact the land, environment and community. All who choose are entitled to their say and vote. That's what we're doing, contributing, not complaining. We've all gone on the record with the Township, our elected representatives and the business owners to make our concerns heard. They know who we are. They don't always like what we say, but they are learning we won't be going away and are in fact, holding them accountable. I'm sure we'll have more to share after our meeting with ALD. We'll see if they are really good neighbors or live up to the perceptions of their reputation.

Gil, Read again what I wrote the first time it will prevent you from missing the point and misspeaking. You are correct in that everyone is entitled to their say regardless of tenure. My statement to you was you are not entitled to speak for everyone in Oaks or even the majority. The fact that you have not been here very long leads to the fact that you don’t know that many people and you falsely assume the right to speak for them. Speak for yourself, I’ll allow you that. Also try to use terms like ‘ BS’ it lowers the level of intelligence of the conversation. You might invite the name callers into it.
You say that Adam, (who seems to have fallen out of the picture and you’ve take over). Has made great strides in making conversations regarding truck routing? Is that what he was doing when he claims to have parked his truck in the middle of brower avenue causing a 12 truck backup and the police to come out? I don’t appreciate his methods or tactics.
And I again ask what have the ONA accomplished? Just tell me because I don’t want to wait for the newspaper. It’s amusing that you invite me to your neighborhood meeting. I was invited before by a friend of yours and then never sent the information as to where and when. I guess it wasn’t genuine, and I don’t think yours is either. I have looked many times on this website as to where and when the meetings are held because I’ve toyed with the idea of attending but have thus far been unsuccessful. Maybe you could point it out if not all the neighbors in Oaks are included aren’t you again a shining example of your buzz word ‘cronyism’ ? Where is the meeting exactly and when?

You're more than welcome to attend the next planning meeting. As with most all volunteer organizations, times and dates of meetings has bounced around in the past. However, we recently agreed on a regular schedule and will post that information to the website. All are welcome and participation is encouraged. |

If you have agreed on a schedule when is the next meeting and where? You are not being forthright. post the information right now, because so far the ONA has been a members only club of people who you have chosen to involve which is actually a very small percentage of the people of Oaks. |
