The neighborhood has change a LOT over the past 12 years, and some of the changes have been very positive (there are a lot of new stores along Fifth Avenue where a decade ago there were stretches of vacant storefronts - just for example) - but some of the changes have been VERY negative - rents have been escalating to the point where it's truly scary for some of us that have been here for a longish time. (Thank goodness some of us have rent stabilized leases!)
