Dear Neighbor:

Our Precinct Council is planning many activities for the month of May. We hope that you will be able to join us in our programs. We want to formally welcome our new Executive Officer, Captain Stacy Rabinowitz, to the 112th Precinct. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Chief Tuller and the members of Patrol Borough Queens North for their continual help and services. We have excellent police services provided to our residents. The patrol borough and our precinct are very responsive to requests from our community. I want to thank our Commanding Officer John Philbin for the services provided by the precinct and I want to congratulate him on his recent promotion to Deputy Inspector.
Volunteers are needed to help with our clean up of the graffiti in Forest Hills and Rego Park. We will meet at the precinct at 9 AM on May 14th. We will be awarding certificates to all who participate. Please plan to join us as we clean our community. Refreshments will be provided.
Our May meeting is Thursday May 19th at the precinct. Please note the change of date. Our guests will be from Transit District 20. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the subway system please be sure to come to the meeting.
We are thrilled to be able to again offer the DMV accident prevention course for free to our residents or people who work in our community . As you know, this course will reduce the points on your license and also save a maximum of 10 percent on your automobile liability insurance premiums. The course will be offered on May 22nd. Please call 718 520 9321 to register. Registration will be on a first come first serve basis.
Please see the article regarding our Tolerance Essay contest and if possible participate. The essays are to be submitted by May 12th. Essays can be brought to the precinct or mailed to us at PO Box 650754, Forest Hills, NY 11375.
We soon will begin our planning of night out against crime in August. If you want to volunteer to help us ?– please let us know at our May meeting.
The precinct council is continuing to compile our database of apartment buildings in our community. You can email or mail the information to us. We want to encourage buildings to have a plan in the event of any emergency. We want to encourage neighbors to watch out for each other.
.
BE CAREFUL! STAY SAFE! Very truly yours,
Heidi Harrison Chain
President
