112th Precinct Community Council

Captain Tamola's January 2009 letter to the community

Jan 12, 2009

Dear Community members,
Welcome to another issue of the Community Council Newsletter. First, I would lkie to begin with wishing everyone a happy and healthy 2009. I am extremely delighted to be working in an area where the police and the community work so well together. I am pleased to report that we have finished the year 2008 with 11.2 percent decrease in all major crime categories. This is only achieved with the cooperation and support of the community, religious leaders, elected officials and the members of the 112th Precinct. I would also like to thank Heidi Chain, the President and all the members of the 112th PRecinct Community Council for all their hard work and support throughout the year. I look forward to continuing these reductions in crime.

The New York Cares Coat Drive during the month of December was a huge success. I would like to express my gratitude for all the participants in the community who donated coats to the needy.

Let me remind you that the Department is looking to hire many new Police Officers. A career with in the NYPD offers the opportunity to work in over 200 specialized units.
