THe 112th Precinct Community Council and the Forest Hills Community and Civic Association are Co-sponsoring and essay contest on tolerance.

The essays are to be 500 words. The students in grades 4 thru 8 are given the following instructions:

We are one New York. People from all over the world live side by side in New York City as neighbors. We eat different foods, worship in many ways, and speak numerous languages.

The title of your essay is '' We can work it out''

You may include in your essay your thoughts of how we can and why we should encourage greater understanding and respect for each other.

The Police Academy came up with the question. Maspeth Bank is providing the prizes. We have a distinguished panel to judge the contest e Mr. Ernest Couco from Maspeth Bank, Lewis Harris from the Forest Hills Community House. , Chief Diana Pizzuti, Commanding Officer of the Police Academy, and Executive Assistant DA Jessie Sligh.
Essays are do on April 22nd. They can be brought to the precinct or mailed to us.
