About Us

I have lived in the Homer area most of my life. My husband Jack, is a ''transplant'' from Nacogdoches. I have one daughter, Miranda. I decided to organize the Homer Crimewatch our of concern for the safety and serenity of our community.

Crimewatch Goals

The primary goal is to reduce the incidence of crime in the Homer area, and make sure it remains a safe and beautiful place to live. I want to make our community stronger by bringing neighbors closer together and improving the quality of life here. We also have the opportunity to improve the effectiveness of our local law enforcement by being their eyes and ears in our area. It is my hope that because of our perseverance and sucess with this program, other rural communities will begin their own watches. Perhaps then we could bring together each leader for a ''Neighborhood Leader's Roundtable'', giving rural areas a greater, more effective voice with County Commissioners and the Sheriff's Department. We have endless opportunities with this program to improve our county as a whole...it just takes each one of us getting more involved.
