New Neighbors!

Soon we will have new neighbors moving in next door. Steve and I are very excited about this, as we have had a few bad experiences with previous renters. We would like to welcome Grady, Diane and Evan with open arms. We are so excited that you are moving in and hope that you love Historic Kenwood as much as we do!

After Grady and Diane move in, stop and say ''Hey'', showing them our great Kenwood Hospitality!

Welcome to Historic Kenwood!

(By the Way, the house on the other side of us is for sale as well, if anyone knows of a nice family who wants to move in next to really nice neighbors, if I do say so myself! :-))

Changes Are Happening!

We are beginning to plan for renovations on our new home, including fencing, painting, deck, landscape, etc. I am really looking forward to this as hopefully it will increase our living space. Our interior is so tiny that it leaves much to be desired when entertaining!

Unfortunately for Steve, he hinted at the idea of having a wrap around deck with french doors off of our bedroom and the dining room. Naturally I latched on to this idea, and refuse to let go. In fact, I have run with it, and now want a pond and swing included off of our bedroom so I can have a quiet sanctuary for morning prayers and quiet time. I think Steve is going to be dreaming in his head from now on and not sharing with me. It just makes more work!!! (but a cooler house!)

Of course, I am more concerned with the fun stuff (decorating and cosmetics) and Steve is concerned with the practical stuff (just getting it done!) That is what partnership is all about, right?

Summer Fun!

I am enjoying being away from my normal school routine, however, I do miss my little ones at school. Of course, in June, I was ready for a change of pace, and older kids seemed to be the best option!

Now, I just want to get back to my own classroom and my own kids. The program I am working with now is nice, but the kids are too old and too wise! There is something to be said for preschool! The grass isn't always greener on the other side!

Some day, when I grow up ;-), I will hopefully be able to take my summers off and spend time gardening, reading, going to the beach, and maybe volunteering somewhere. In my dreams, right? In the meantime, I will just continue to work through the summer and use the extra money on our house. I would probably get bored being at home that much anyways!!!!
