Since her 2006 arrival at Louisville, Rev. King was appointed the chairperson of the Kentucky Conference Budget Committee, joined the NAACP and is a graduate of the Focus Louisville 2006 Leadership Class.

Rev. King received a business degree from North Carolina A&T State University, a master’s degree in education from the University of New Haven, and a Master of Divinity degree from Yale University. While at Yale, Rev. King was the pastor of the Black Church at Yale.

Upon graduation she was appointed pastor to the St. Luke Christian A.M.E. Zion Church in Boston, Massachusetts. During her five years at St Luke, Rev. King worked with the Mattapan Community Health Center, American Heart Association, Who Touched Me Aids Ministry, Brookview House Homeless Shelter and the Black Ministerial Alliance. In 2004, she received the Leadership and Commitment Award from Boston TenPoint Coalition and was the 2006 Person of Distinction by the Metro Bay Area Club of National Association of Negro Businesses and Professional Women’s Clubs Incorporated.

A native of Danbury, Connecticut, Rev. King has served in the ministry for over 14 years. Her motto is “Now the Just shall live by faith”.
